20 Years of Style: The Dressing Room Celebrates in Catwalk Style
There are birthdays… and then there are The Dressing Room birthdays.
On Sunday, May 11th, The Dressing Room pulled out all the stops to celebrate an incredible 20 years in fashion—and what better way to mark two decades of style, spirit, and standout customer love than with a sun-drenched catwalk celebration in the heart of St Albans?
Set in the gorgeous St Albans Museum, the event blended old-world charm with new-season fashion in the most magical way. The grand historic space was transformed into a celebratory haven with birthday balloons, beautiful floral installations, and rows of style lovers eagerly awaiting the catwalk spectacle. With glasses clinking, the sun beaming through the tall windows, and music setting the mood—it was the kind of Sunday fashionistas dream of.
Guests were greeted with signature Dressing Room hospitality—think: bubbly, treats, and the kind of friendly, fashion-obsessed energy that we are known for. Each attendee received a covetable goodie bag featuring a customised Dressing Room newspaper with amazing photos from years gone by, a scrumptious biscuit and perhaps the star of the bag: ‘Edition 20’, a limited-edition fragrance created in collaboration with British perfumer Ampersand. A scent as stylish and distinctive as Deryane herself.
The atmosphere was electric. The entire Dressing Room team was out in full force, decked head to toe in new season looks and buzzing with excitement. It felt like one big family—and in many ways, it was. Especially fitting since it also happened to be Deryane’s actual birthday (who was also joined by her husband, son, and mum for the festivities) Talk about a day to remember.
A Catwalk to Remember
Of course, the main event was the catwalk—a joyful, trend-packed celebration of the season’s must-have styles and the incredible brands that make up The Dressing Room's curated collections. Let’s talk about the trends that had everyone snapping photos and scribbling notes.
Scandi Luxe
The Scandinavian style set the tone with looks that felt clean, polished, and oh-so-wearable. Think: modern minimalism meets subtle drama. Brands like Day Birger et Mikkelsen, Stella Nova, Cala Jade, and Ganni delivered fresh tailoring, fluid fabrics, and tonal layers, while Sui Ava’s playful accessories added a pop of fun. This trend was all about balance—elegant without trying too hard.
Dopamine Dressing
If you’re not smiling, your outfit isn’t bright enough! Dopamine dressing continues to reign supreme, and Essentiel Antwerp led the charge with high-impact hues, bold stripes, and joyful florals. These are the kind of clothes that make people stop you in the street and say, “Where did you get that?”
Co-ords are King
One trend stood out for its versatility and summer-ready appeal: co-ords. The coordinated set is no longer just a trend—it’s a lifestyle. Whether you’re jet-setting, lounging, or brunching, there’s a co-ord for that. Highlights included Rails’ chic monochrome pairings, Dea Kudibal’s graphic sets, Greek Archaic Kori’s metallic-infused options, and Noib’s bright prints. Matching never looked so good.
Resortwear Refresh
What’s a summer catwalk without a touch of resortwear? Sorbet Island’s dreamy swimwear made its debut, layered beneath floaty Pitusa throw-ons—the kind of effortless styling that takes you from poolside to aperitivo hour. Wild and Hale Bob delivered printed dresses perfect for beach-to-bar transitions, bringing tropical glam to the St Albans catwalk.
Occasionwear, Elevated
Last but not least, we saw a show-stopping moment in occasionwear. With weddings, races, and garden parties firmly back on the calendar, guests were clearly taking notes. Queens of Archive and Hayley Menzies proved that dressing up is having a major moment, with a lineup of frilled, shimmering dresses and modern shirt-style silhouettes. Think ethereal meets edge—with a dash of British cool.
A Community Celebration
The best part? The show wasn’t just about fashion—it was about people. Customers, friends, family, and suppliers filled the room with smiles, laughter, and (let’s be honest) lots of Instagram stories. The atmosphere was warm, inclusive, and joyful. You could feel the love for the brand, the team, and the incredible journey it has taken over the last 20 years.
Two decades of empowering women through fashion. Two decades of building community. Two decades of style that goes beyond clothes. That’s something worth celebrating—and The Dressing Room did it in the only way we know how: fabulously.
Here’s to 20 more.
