In our opinion, all the best days start with a good cup of coffee so why not pop down to St.Albans and grab a morning coffee at Hatch in Christopher Place. The award winning cafe / diner has a delicious offering on their menu, perfect for brunch (or burgers later!) and if you wanted to finish the day where you started, they're open late for cocktails too!

After your morning coffee, why not take a wander and explore the St.Albans market, which is on every Wednesday and Saturday. From food stalls to unique products, you’re likely to find a gem of sorts while strolling around. On the second Sunday of every month you'll find the Farmer's market with gorgeous fresh produce, and depending on the time of year we also have seasonal market stalls, like the Christmas Market, situated around the Cathedral. All of these are surrounded by a number of high street shops located on Peter's Street, St Christopher's Place and the Maltings Shopping Arcade.

Verulamium Park is 100 acres of gorgeous parkland right by the city centre and named after the ancient city of Verulamium on which it stands. Take a stroll around the lake and see if you can spot the Roman ruins before popping into the museum to find out more about it's history, and if you've got a little one then they'll love the toddler splash park for some fun on a warm day! Quench a thirst after all that walking and have a drink in the oldest pub in Britain, Ye Old Fighting Cocks. There's also a spectacular fireworks display around Bonfire Night so if you time it right you can always finish your day in St.Albans with a bang!

Be enchanted by the stunning cathedral at the heart of St. Albans. Not only is the landmark itself beautiful, but also the grounds that surround it. Keep an eye out for The Alban Pilgramige in June each year which is a fun parade for all the family to enjoy.


Head on over to George Street and into The Abbey for that home away from home feel - try their delicious seasonal menu filled with lots of produce sourced locally and their bottomless brunch is one you need to try. The interiors are beautiful, full of character, and definitely get a piccie infront of their amazing stain glass window and flower wall in the conservatory....instagram ready!!
