Hatch in St Albans is a vibrant independent café‑diner nestled in Christopher Place, beloved since 2013 for its hearty brunches, inventive burgers, waffles and speciality coffees. MARKET PLACE

After your morning coffee, why not take a wander and explore the St.Albans market, which is on every Wednesday and Saturday. From food stalls to unique products, you’re likely to find a gem of sorts while strolling around. On the second Sunday of every month you'll find the Farmer's market with gorgeous fresh produce, and depending on the time of year we also have seasonal market stalls, like the Christmas Market, situated around the Cathedral. All of these are surrounded by a number of high street shops located on Peter's Street, St Christopher's Place and the Maltings Shopping Arcade.

VERULAMIUM PARK

Verulamium Park is 100 acres of gorgeous parkland right by the city centre and named after the ancient city of Verulamium on which it stands. Take a stroll around the lake and see if you can spot the Roman ruins before popping into the museum to find out more about it's history, and if you've got a little one then they'll love the toddler splash park for some fun on a warm day! Quench a thirst after all that walking and have a drink in the oldest pub in Britain, Ye Old Fighting Cocks. There's also a spectacular fireworks display around Bonfire Night so if you time it right you can always finish your day in St.Albans with a bang!

Books On The Hill is a beautiful book shop with a team of dedicated book collectors and reading enthusiasts, who strive to match the right book with the right person.
