Essentiel Antwerp was founded in 1999 by Esfan Eghtessadi and Inge Onsea. Esfan (son of Nicole Cadine)grew up surrounded by fashion- surrounded by textiles, sketches and fashion collections. Inge had a mother who adored vintage clothing and Inge herself was a fashion model, having spent 5 years in India which inspired her love of colour, print and unexpected combinations. Together, in 1999 they launched a t-shirt collection in four styles and twenty colours - their response to the monochromatic fashion landscape at the time. After four seasons- the collection expanded into knitwear, jackets, dresses, shirt, trousers and accessories-all in an array of colours and new materials.

Essentiel Antwerp is an ode to play- cheeky, playful and never taking dressing too seriously. The cross generational appeal of the collections are designed to provoke an emotional response and are essentially a celebration of exquisite eccentricity.
