Deryane's SS26 Buying Report

DERYANE'S SS26 BUYING REPORT

Heading into a new season is always an uplifting time, time to think about updating our look for the months ahead.

I started buying for SS26 back in June 2025, visiting showrooms and trade shows to get a full overview of the season ahead.  I always start the season with an open mind about what I might find, I research the trends and colour stories in advance and it soon becomes clear what direction I will take the season in once I have viewed a handful of collections. For SS26 I was excited to see lots of texture throughout the collections. Handmade textures with crochet and cross stitch appear across lots of pieces but in a modern, grown up way.  You will find this in new addition to the dressing room, Les Tricots de Lea and also in perennial favourites like Fabienne Chapot

Copenhagen based brand, Munthe drew inspiration from flora and fauna, with the founder Naja Munthe hand picking flowers and leaves to use in the creation of prints featured in her collection.  The result is breathtaking, with botanical elements placed on fabric and prepared with plant based dyes.  A way a reconnecting with traditional methods , emphasizing the value of craftmanship in a world full of AI. The show in Copenhagen in August was in the Botanical Gardens in Copenhagen and was truly incredible. Certainly a highlight of the season.

Danish designer, Dea Kudibal took her ‘The Blue House’ collection in a truly beautiful direction.  The collection takes inspiration from Bjorn Wiinblad’s work – one of Denmarks most imaginative and beloved artists. Brushstrokes and blooms give the collection a playful and romantic feel that is also full of character.   Beautiful and magical, like stepping into your own fairytale. In other news, there was barely a collection that didn’t reference seascape in some form. Coral, shells, lobsters and starfish all make an appearance.  Textural elements bring the look to life with mesh and rope detailing. Stella Nova took the nautical theme one step further with their ‘Very Lucky Cruise Captain’ collection.  A theme built around a stylish captain and her crew setting sail with stripes and anchors.

Courtside is one of the most wearable stories of the season. Wimbledon whites, strawberry motifs and soft tailoring give easy to wear looks for summer parties to the office and of course, courtside. This leads easily into set dressing, with Co-ords offering ease and cohesion.  Relaxed tailoring and interchangeable separates gives an effortless look.  New Australian brand Sancia the label taps into this perfectly for a pared back, luxe look.

Layered lace can be seen in many of the Scandinavian collections, combining minimal sihouettes softened by delicate lace layering.  A Scandinavian emphasis on texture with a subtle nod to 1990’s minimalism.

The colour palette is soft pinks, butter yellow, mint green and icy blue.  Neutrals are nautical navy, cloud dancer white, sage green and coffee bean.  Colour pops can be seen with teal, cornflower blue and fuchsia pink.

I completed my buying for the Spring season in October, having visited countless showrooms and viewing hundreds of collections.  The result is something I cannot wait to share with you as it all comes together throughout the season.  I hope this gives you a little taster of what is to come!
