Our Year in Pictures 2017

2017 certainly was an eventful year for the world at large, with some true tragedies plus some uplifting stories such as the Royal Engagement.

So we thought we would focus on the positive with our year in pictures, and what a busy year it has been at The Dressing Room in 2017.

Deryane was out and about as always scouting out new collections at over 300 buying appointments and trade shows, adding another 19 new brands to our edit! New firm favourites are Anna Beck, Rockins, Universe of Us and South Parade. 

Copenhagen Fashion Week was a definite highlight in the buying calendar, Deryane & Laura came back completely inspired and full of new trend ideas for 2018. 

As always, we love adding to your shopping experience with events, parties and pop ups.  We had our fun Juice in the Jungle event with American Vintage, Uzma Bozai Personalising your sweatshirts, Anna Beck launch event plus our Paige Denim in store Pop Up among others.  We gave away over 250 goody bags, over £10,000 worth of giveaways and prizes and you helped us to raise over £1500 for Charity this year.  Your support has made a huge difference, thank you.

We had a great time at our Anna Beck Pop up event in Chester, plus our activewear pop up at The Grove was fantastic.  Do let us know if you have any venues you would like to see The Dressing Room pop up in and we will see what we can do!

Always one to support other retailers, Deryane was no stranger to the stage in 2017, with her speech at Pure London Trade show, giving support and advice to other independent retailers out there.  A highlight from this event was when Deryane met former Vogue Editor, Alexandra Shulman, and they shared their passion for the industry.

A true supporter of women in business, Deryane was asked to give a quote for International Womens Day plus gave a speech at Harvey Nichols for the Everywoman Retail Ambassadors Awards, sharing her experience as a Retail Ambassador encouraging other women to follow retail as a career path.

We had some great support from Press and Industry Influencers alike, including some great collaborations with Laura’s Little Locket, Notes By a Stylist, Coco Mama Style, Sulky Doll Styling and Style Mum amongst many others.  We also paired up with some new friends at Bloom & Wild, Gabriel Square and Audenza (previously Mia Fleur) with some competitions and collaborations.

To enhance your online shopping experience we added some new features to our site including our Style Me page, Videos page, Visit St Albans guide plus our meet the team page to give you an insight into who The Dressing Room team are.

To keep up with all this newness and excitement, we needed some extra people to join our team and welcomed 5 new team members to The Dressing Room. Jasmine K, Emily, Jacqui, Jasmine Y, and Emma all joined team Dressing Room.  You can find out more about the team over on our Meet the Team page.

Alongside the new team members we had some promotions with Charley being promoted to Assistant Store Manager, Annette to Store Supervisor, Elle to Online Personal Shopper and Alesha to Senior Sales consultant.  We couldn’t be more proud of their achievements.

With all this activity you would think there was no time for much else, but you would be wrong!  Both Becky and Laura got engaged this year, and Rachel is expecting her 2^nd baby in March next year.  Laura & Charley both celebrated turning 30 in 2017 and team Dressing Room finished the year on a high with our lovely Store Manager Charlotte giving birth to a beautiful baby boy on 27^th December – what a lovely way to finish the year!

Thank you to all of our fabulous customers, friends, brands, suppliers and collaborators for helping us to keep our Dressing Room Dream alive – its been a fantastic year and we wish you all the very best for 2018.
