The Knotty Ones

The Knotty Ones who’s motto is ‘Timeless, Sustainable and quintessentially New Baltic’ was founded by three best friends who set out to create the perfect knit all the while giving back to less privileged women in their community. Based between New York and Lithuania- the Knotty Ones believe in close-knit sisterhood supporting female artisans and female founded factories in rural Lithuania. This provides the artisans with flexibility (being able to work alongside bringing up families) and financial independence. Sustainability is of great importance and the brand uses only natural, 100% biodegradable yarns and are totally plastic free even down to buttons and compostable packaging. Knits are produced in small batches with no leftovers.

The brand’s aim is to design timeless pieces inspired by Baltic heritage that will last year after year. Most of the inspiration comes from their surroundings- crashing waves of the Baltic Sea, dark inky skies if Winter nights, long blades of grass and colourful blooming meadows throughout the country.
