Faune
After careers in media and fashion, the founders of Faune were inspired by motherhood to return to their passion for fashion and create an independent brand that aligns with their values. They recognised an opportunity to create high-quality, traditional children’s nightwear grounded in the principles of slow fashion. Faune was officially born in November 2017, launching its first childrenswear range, followed by the much-anticipated womenswear collection in 2020. The vintage-inspired designs that Faune is now loved for continue to capture hearts.
The collections are designed in London by Nicola, a womenswear designer with over 20 years of experience. Nicola’s designs are inspired by vintage finds, blending delicate, pretty details with light, airy silhouettes that offer both style and everyday comfort. Each piece is meticulously crafted to transition seamlessly from day to night, perfect for a slower-paced, intentional lifestyle. Faune focuses on creating timeless, high-quality garments that transcend fleeting trends, producing small collections to minimise waste. Any leftover material is repurposed to create accessories, ensuring sustainability in every step of the process.
Faune works closely with a family-run manufacturer in India, deeply committed to workers' rights and providing a fair living wage, ensuring a caring and safe environment for all employees. This partnership is integral to Faune's ethos, as the manufacturer is a valued member of the Faune family. The female owner of the company is passionate about female representation in the workplace, championing equality and ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work. She fosters a diverse workforce, where everyone is treated with respect and fairness.
India, with its rich cultural heritage, holds a special place in the brand’s heart. Faune is committed to giving back to the country, proudly supporting The Rittana Children's Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to creating sustainable projects that support vulnerable street children. The brand’s ongoing commitment to charitable causes in India reflects its dedication to making a positive impact.
