The label is the brain child of two friends Sophie Lagreula and Catherine Tisserant who's original skills lay in tableware and interior design! After their initial meeting, they realized they not only shared a passion for interiors but both had a passion for fashion and a desire to make elegant, yet fun accessories which were different to anything else. Using the events of France in May 1968 as their inspiration, the girls took what they described as a 'torture Subject' to make a 'Pleasure Subject' and made the collection out of floor cloths which were painted, decorated and transformed into bags and wallets! Very soon the collection was developed in vintage leathers, metal or colt. Embellishments are taken from a relaunch of old designs from the face of a Vietnamese woman with her wedding headdress to a good luck elephant. Sous Les Paves, literally meaning Under the cobblestones is a mouth watering collection which is full of historical meaning.
